Event introduction

Background

Smart Mobility and the Internet of Things (IOT) have become the main focuses for many global companies. In recognition of this, the Ministry of Transportation and Communication (MOTC) has formulated the ”Smart Mobility System development and construction plan” from 2021 to 2024. The plan includes the continuous promotion of the test field in Danhai New Town and strengthening of the development of the 5G and IOT.

On 26 Aug., the ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) together with TÜV Rheinland and the EUTW organize the "5G Autonomous Vehicles & IOT Future Trends Forum," inviting Mr. Hu Hsiang-ling, Political Deputy Minister, MOTC (交通部政務次長 胡湘麟), and Chung Ming-shi, Director-General Transportation Dept, New Taipei City Gov. (新北市政府交通局局長 鍾鳴時), and executive speakers from HwaCom Systems Inc. 華電聯網, STMicroelectronics Ltd. 意法半導體, TÜV Rheinland 德國萊因, Chunghwa Telecom 中華電信, and Far EasTone Telecom 遠傳電信 to present the latest 5G and autonomous vehicles technologies, Taiwan policies, market trends, and most importantly, two ongoing pilot projects in New Taipei City and Europe.

From this forum the audience would be able to explore new business opportunities in this new era of revolution in the transportation industry.
