Background

NIAS (non-intentionally added substances) are substances that can be presented in FCM (Food Contact Materials) that are not intentionally added for a specific purpose but due to contamination, impurity or undesired reactions during the manufacturing process.

NIAS analysis is becoming more common in compliance management of food contact products and are even requested by authorities.

Dr. Lionel Spack from Nestlé and Mr. Chuk Wong from TUV Rheinland will share his experience and expectations with regards to NIAS.
