Taiwan demonstrates a great opportunities for wind power as 16 out of 18 the world’s most potential offshore wind farms are located in the Taiwan Strait. Thus, the new energy policy planned by the government, the "4-year Wind Power Generation Promotion Plan" is expected to add 652MW of land-based and off-shore wind power generation by 2020. In the medium- and long-term plan, Taiwan will reach a cumulative generating capacity of 4,200MW by 2025 and therefore, reaching “Non-Nuclear Homeland Plan” targeted by the government.
TÜV Rheinland has accumulated rich experience and established a sound management system in HSE (Healthy, Safety and Environment) and occupational health and safety management system, as a result of last ten-year’s European offshore wind industry development. This Summit will summarize TÜV Rheinland’s expertise from the dock loading, maritime transport, maritime lifting, personnel transport, commissioning and other aspects in maritime health and safety related issues.
In order to assist Taiwan’s domestic offshore wind power projects, TÜV Rheinland invites Mr. Andy Lidstone, our offshore wind safety assessment expert from Risktec Solution, a subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland, to make a brilliant introduction on the risk management, risk analysis of offshore wind project life cycle and the tools together with assessment method of the offshore wind health and safety related issues.
Whether you are a offshore wind farm developer, manufacturer, installer, wind power operation and maintenance provider or banker, insurance, legal consultant, it is paramount important to take this Summit opportunity to understand underlying risk of offshore wind project.
